How do I get a library card?
Your USM picture ID card is also your library card.
Go to library service desk on 1st floor to get barcode
activated. Your libary id is the number on the card that begins with 250.
How do I print online articles?
To print from PCs your student ID must have value added to it. “Value Added” machines are available in the library and elsewhere on campus.
How do I find print journals in the library?
Go to 3rd floor (Serials/Periodicals Department) and
ask for assistance at the service desk. Photocopy machines
are also available on this floor. (Microfilm copies
are free)
How do I get copies of articles from journals not at USM?
Complete interlibrary
loan form on library home page. Articles will be
e-mailed to you in 3-5 working days. Please do not use interlibrary loan to request articles from print journals that the library already owns.
How do I request books that the library doesn't own?
Use “request” function in URSUS
catalog. Pick up books at circulation desk on 1st floor.
Books not on URSUS
can be ordered by completing an Interlibrary Loan form.
